Royal Air Maroc is ramping up flights to the United States ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup by adding 32 special services for Moroccan supporters. The airline said the extra flights are meant to help transport fans following the Atlas Lions during the tournament’s group stage.
The additional flights will run between June 13 and June 27, linking Casablanca with New York, Boston and Atlanta. All three U.S. cities will host Morocco’s matches, and Atlanta will be served for the first time by this special operation.
More than 8,800 extra seats will be made available as demand rises for the global tournament, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico. Royal Air Maroc said it will use wide-body aircraft and reinforce staffing to handle the expected surge in passengers.
The carrier also announced a fixed round-trip economy fare of about 920 euros to make the journey more affordable for fans. Tickets go on sale May 20 through Royal Air Maroc agencies and a dedicated online platform.
The move shows how African airlines are increasingly using major sporting events to boost long-haul traffic and diaspora travel. It also reflects the commercial pull of the World Cup for carriers with direct links to the host cities.
