Fortuna Mining sold shorter-life, higher-cost Yaramoko mine in Burkina Faso and San Jose mine in Mexico earlier in 2025, reducing output but generating $400 million net cash. West Africa COO David Whittle said the company targets mid-tier mines producing 100,000-200,000 ounces annually with 10+ year lives in operating countries. Fortuna operates Séguéla mine in Côte d’Ivoire, on track to exceed 2025 guidance of over 150,000 ounces.
Séguéla began production in 2023; Lycopodium studies plant expansion to 2-2.5 million tonnes/year from 1.7-1.75 million. Diamba Sud in Senegal received environmental approval, with construction planned for 2026 and first output in 2028. Perseus Mining’s A$2.1 billion ($1.4 billion) offer for Predictive Discovery lapsed after competing bid.
